Cherrell holds a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and has spent years working with

individuals, couples, and families navigating complex systems, including relationships, parenting, justice-involved work, and major life transitions.

That clinical education gives her a deep understanding of how people are shaped not just by who they are, but by the systems they live inside.

She is also a trained transformative mediator, meaning her work is grounded in listening, neutrality, and helping people understand themselves and each other more clearly — rather than taking sides or forcing outcomes. This allows her to hold difficult, emotionally charged situations with steadiness and fairness.

Today, Cherrell leads the Real Alignment Institute as a coaching clinic.

This work is not therapy — it is structured, real-world coaching for people who want clarity, direction, and practical strategies for their lives and relationships.

Cherrell is a parent, has been a long-term partner, has experienced marriage and divorce, and has navigated the realities of co-parenting. This gives her a grounded, lived understanding of the emotional and logistical complexity that most people bring into their relationships and family lives.

This combination of professional training and lived experience allows her to meet clients with empathy without sugarcoating — and with honesty without cruelty.

The Philosophy Behind Real Alignment

Cherrell believes that people make sense when you understand the life they have lived.

When someone is distant, overwhelmed, defensive, or stuck, it is rarely because they are broken. It is usually because something in their world has become unsustainable.

Her work is about helping people see those patterns clearly — and then make grounded, informed choices about what comes next.

Sometimes that means strengthening a relationship.
Sometimes it means changing it.
Sometimes it means leaving it.

The goal is always alignment.

Why the Institute Exists

The Real Alignment Institute was created to be a place where people can:

  • speak honestly about what isn’t working

  • be met without shame or pressure

  • and receive practical, structured support for real-life problems

This is not a place for pretending.
It is a place for clarity.
